K'taka: Bus falls on top of house, 7 dead

Mangaluru, Jan 3 (UNI) Seven people were killed and several others injured, when their bus overturned and fell on a house near Panathur on Kerala-Karnataka border on Sunday.

Police said here that the victims were part of a marriage party and they were going to Sullia from Puttur, when the tragedy struck.

Witnesses said that the bus was going on a high speed and the driver lost control while descending a slope, leading to overturning of the bus. The vehicle fell on top of the house, 20 foot beneath the road, killing three men, two women and two boys on-the-spot.

Fortunately, there was no one in the house, over which the bus fell. There were about 40 people inside the bus. The rescue operation was underway.
