From an assortment of tees and sweatshirts to dressier ensembles, we take stock of Karisma Kapoor’s sartorial game in 2020
From being the ’90s Bollywood It-girl, to her now, classic, understated avatar, Karisma Kapoor has come a long way. Over her three decades in Bollywood, we’ve seen a complete evolution of Kapoor’s fashion sensibilities. We must admit, back in the ’90s, she did her bit to convince us about bushy eyebrows, gaudy outfits and OTT makeup. Cut to present, she’s won us over with her sleek, elegant and often, monochromatic ensembles. The year 2020 called for bringing out loungewear with a vengeance, but even then Kapoor cut a stylish figure, if her Instagram is anything to go by.
The year began on a high note with Kapoor holidaying in London. Her vacation lineup included a whole lot of sweatshirts from neutrals to pop colours, but we saw her raise the bar for New Year’s Eve when she sported a quirky star-print sequinned shift dress and sheer stockings. The first couple of months of the year were business as usual, and on several occasions we saw the actor power dressing like a pro with pantsuits and suits in labels like Never Fully Dressed, Edeline Lee and Leo Lin. We also saw her in one of her favourite silhouettes—the dress. From a sleek red-carpet worthy number by Amit Aggarwal to the softer, feminine variety, we saw it all. Kapoor also opted for some of her favourite Indian wear labels like Manish Malhotra and Raw Mango when it came to ethnic wear. But as the year took a more dressed-down turn in March, it was a whole lot of quirky tees, sweatshirts and athleisure. With the lockdown easing and the time of the year, we’ve recently seen the actor doing glam the way she knows best—a whole lot of dresses, sequins and of course, black.
So, as we bid adieu to the year that was, here’s looking at some of Karisma Kapoor’s best style moments from 2020. Scroll ahead for inspiration.
