Suspected tigers prey on cattle

Imphal, January 02 2021: Wild animals suspected to be tigers have killed and eaten several cows and buffaloes at Khoirok Nepali village in Kangpokpi district.

Sources said that 10 cattle including 7 cows and 3 buffaloes reared in the village were found missing a week ago and on December 28 last, the villagers found remains of the head parts of the missing cattle and footprints of suspected predators deep in the jungle.

The sources said the villagers suspect the predators to be tigers.

Meanwhile, Forest personnel headed by the Divisional Forest Officer, Bishnupur have visited the village and inspected the remains of the cattle as well as footprints of the suspected predators.
