Environment awareness programme held

Kakching, January 02 2021: An Environment Awareness programme was jointly organised by the Forest department; Maigei Kaonba Ayibasingee lup, Langmeidong; Manipur Voluntary Health Association and Okho Trust Langmeidong at Serou Bazar Community hall, today.

S Naobicha Singh, pradhan Serou GP; Debla Laiphakpam, DFO Thoubal; Ngouba Thouna, Life Time Achievement National Awardee and L Suranjoy Singh, secretary Manipur Voluntary Health association as presidium members.

N Munal Meitei, Range Forest Officer Kakching and Salam Rajesh Singh, environmentalist also attended the programme as resource persons.

Addressing the programme, Naorem Munal Meitei stated that the only way to save the degrading environment of the State is through the cooperation and support of everyone irrespective of their social status or place of origin.

Salam Rajesh Singh mentioned the importance of environmental awareness for the students and youths of the State.

As a part of the programme, Dr Ambedkar National Award for Nat Sankirtana awardee Laishram Somorendro Singh was feted.
