Arms, ammunition recovered from Poonch village | India News – Times of India
JAMMU: Security forces in a joint operation on Sunday claimed to have recovered extra arms and ammunition in Poonch’s Balakote sector, based mostly on disclosures made by three Pakistan-linked terrorists of J&Ok Ghaznavi Force who have been lately arrested. The seizure included a pistol, three pistol magazines, 35 bullets and 5 grenades.
“The fresh recovery was made from Dabbi village along the Line of Control. This was the third consecutive recovery of arms and ammunition based on the statements of the arrested trio,” IGP (Jammu Range) Mukesh Singh stated.
The three have been caught close to the LoC with six grenades on December 27. “During questioning, they revealed some vital clues about reviving terrorism in the area. On December 30, security forces busted a hideout and recovered two pistols, 70 pistol rounds and two grenades hidden under bushes along the LoC in Dabbi village,” IGP Singh stated.
“J&K Ghaznavi Force is attempting to target religious places to trigger communal tension in Jammu region. The Pakistan-based handlers used to drop weapon consignments in hidden patches in forward Indian locations and the arrested operatives would retrieve and ferry them to the hinterland,” Poonch SSP Ramesh Angral stated.
The whole restoration of arms and ammunition made to date on disclosures made by the arrested terror associates contains 13 grenades, three pistols, 5 pistol magazines, 105 pistol bullets, 4 Pakistan-made balloons, one flag of Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen and 18 posters of J&Ok Ghaznavi Force.
