Three tourists from Delhi were killed and two others injured when the Swift car in which they were travelling fell into a nullah on the Nalagarh-Swarghat road in the wee hours today.
They had gone to Manali on December 30 and the mishap occurred when they were returning back yesterday. According to Ankush, who sustained injuries in the accident, the car was being driven by Manoj and since there was no traffic on the road, he was driving at a high speed.
The mishap occurred when Manoj failed to see a curve in the fog due to poor visibility and the car fell into a nullah from a culvert. Those killed on the spot have been identified as Ankit, Akhil and Deepak, while the driver, Manoj and Ankush sustained injuries. They were undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
A case under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the IPC has been registered and further probe is on.
