Santi Ranjan Karar appointed Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, West Bengal

Kolkata, Jan 02 (UNI) Mr Santi Ranjan Karar was today appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, West Bengal Branch.
'Santi Ranjan Karar, is appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, West Bengal State Branch from in exercise of the power conferred on me under Sub-section (a) of Section 6B of Indian Red Cross Society (Bengal Branch) Act. 1920,' Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar tweeted.
Born and raised in a village in Howrah district of the state, Mr Karar is a social activist in Kolkata. He works on humanitarian development and social welfare around the Indian subcontinent and continental Africa.
In his biodata shared with UNI here, Mr Karar states, 'It gives me immense pleasure to represent the NGO, Friends’ Society in Social Service (FSSS). I strongly believe that some individuals have desires to make a difference in the lives of others down the street or around the world irrespective of any territorial borders. We have discovered, through our service, how an individual or NGO could go a long way to reach to the hearts of the common people.'
