VADODARA: A class IX student of city-based made a mark in international science and mathematics competitions held online last month.
Anish Singh, who lives in Sevasi area, had participated in an International Mathematics Olympiad and a science competition which were held online on December 5. Anish secured a gold medal in the science competition and a silver medal in the International Mathematics Olympiad as the results of the two competitions were announced last week. Anish competed with students from Singapore, Japan, China, India, South Korea, Hong Kong China, UAE, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, USA, Mexico and Bulgaria among other countries. Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, Anish took the test online in Vadodara otherwise he would have represented the country in Singapore.
“I am thankful to my teachers, friends and parents to support me during my preparations in different ways,” Anish said. Anish plans to make a career as a biomedical engineer. “I want to develop integrated bionic chips which can be an alternative to neurons in areas of nerve damage,” he added.
