Rohit, Pant, Gill, Shaw, Saini placed in isolation as precaution

Melbourne, Jan 2 (UNI) Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have been placed in isolation as a precautionary measure after a video surfaced showing these cricketers to be dining at an indoor venue in Melbourne on New Year's Day.
A fan posted a video of the cricketers dining at a restaurant, seated indoors. The fan also tweeted that he had paid the bill for the cricketers, and in turn received a hug from Pant, which he retracted in a subsequent tweet.
In a media release, Cricket Australia stated that both the BCCI and CA are "investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols."
"On the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been placed in isolation as a precaution. This will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when traveling and at the training venue," stated a release from Cricket Australia.
Cricket Australia have strict COVID protocols in place to ensure the safety of the cricketers and minimise the chances of them being affected by the virus. The players are allowed to go to public venues and dine in restaurants but they are required to sit in an open-air space.
Recently, strict action was taken on Brisbane Heat after Chris Lynn and Dan Lawrence were found to have breached the biosecurity protocols in place for the Big Bash League.
