New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) National carrier Indian Railways earned 8.54 percent more in December last year compared to the corresponding period in 2019 from the freight loading.
In the month of December 2020, Indian Railways loading was 118.13 million tons which is 8.54 percent higher compared to 2019 loading for the same period (108.84 million tons).
In this period Indian Railways earned Rs 11788.11 crore from freight loading which is also Rs 757.74 crore, which is 6.87 % higher than the earning of year 2019 for the same period (Rs 11030.37 crore).
In the month of December 2020, Indian Railways loading was 118.13 million tons which includes 50.67 million tons of coal, 15.31 million tons of iron ore, 6.13 million tons of food grains, 5.23 million tons of fertilizers, 4.3 million tons of mineral oil and 7.46 million tons of cement.
Indian Railway has given a number of concessions and discounts to make Railways Freight movement more attractive from road transportation.
