Five Bangladeshis arrested in Thane

Thane, Jan 2 (UNI) The Rural Police have arrested five Bangladeshi nationals on charge of allegedly staying illegally in Kalyan town of the district.
Acting on a tip off, a police team raided a small Chinese eatery in Kalyan on late evening of Dec 31 and nabbed the five Bangladeshis, police said on Saturday.
The five were staying and working in the joint over past five years.
The arrested accused have been identified as Tohid Azad Shaikh (33), Jalal alias Dulal Suna Miyan (28), Imo Shipon Khan (20), Sohel Ahmed Mohammad Lala Miyan (30) and Munir Abdul Khan (29).
An offence under provisions of the Foreign Nationals Act and Indian Passport Act has been registered with the Bazarpeth police station under Kalyan division against them, sources said, adding, further probe was underway.
