Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been conferred the ‘ICAI award for excellence in Financial Reporting’ for the year 2019-20 after a long gap of 40 years since 1981-82.
Significantly, after a long gap of 40 years, BHEL has won this prestigious recognition. An independent jury unanimously selected BHEL for the award in the PSU Manufacturing Organisation – Large category, for the Award for 2016.
The Jury has selected the awardees after reviewing the participating enterprises on the basis of degree of compliance with Accounting Standards, Statutory Guidelines, Regulations, the accounting practices adopted by participating enterprises while preparing their financial statements, the policies adopted for disclosure and quality of presentation of financial statements in the Annual Report.
The Jury also considers the fact that the company has NIL comments on its financial statements either from Statutory Auditors as well as CAG.
Such recognition in the times of financial stress will boost the confidence of the investors and give a positive signal about the quality of financial reporting and adherence to the statutory compliances.
