MADURAI: The Railway Board has approved operation of special trains between Mangalore Central and Nagercoil Junction through Kerala from January 6.
No 06605 Mangalore Central – Nagercoil Junction daily special train will leave at 7.20am and reach Nagercoil at 11.20 pm the same day, starting January 6. In the return direction, No 06606 Nagercoil Junction – Mangalore Central daily special train will leave at 2am every day, from January 7, and reach Mangalore at 6.00 pm the same day.
The trains have stoppages at Manjeshwar, Kumbla, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Nileshwar, Charvattur, Payyanur, Valapattanam, Kannur, Thalassery, Mahe, Vadakara, Payyoli, Kozhikkode, Ferok, Vallikunnu, Parpanangadi, Tanur, Tirur, Kuttippuram, Pattambi, Shoranur Junction, Thrissur, Chalakudi, Aluva, Ernakulam Junction, Turavur, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha, Harippad, Kayamkulam Junction, Karunagapalli, Kollam Junction, Varkala Sivagiri, Thiruvananthapuram Central,.
Train No 06605 will also have stoppages at Koyilandy, Neyyattinkara and Kuzhithurai. According to a statement from the Thiruvananthapuram railway division, these trains will have one AC chair car, eighteen second class chair cars (reserved) and two luggage cum brake van coaches.
