The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday following a heart issue. Cricket historian Boria Majumdar took to Twitter and shared the piece of information with fans.

The BCCI President went to the hospital to get tests done and that is when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue and the hospital has now created a 3 member board with Dr. Saroj Mondal who will perform the procedure.

“He felt dizzy when he was in the gym and he went to Woodlands to get the Tests done. That’s when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue and the hospital has now created a 3 member board with Dr. Saroj Mondal who will perform the procedure. @SGanguly99 get well soon,” Boria tweeted.

Speaking to ANI, sources close to the former India skipper said that Ganguly complained of pain in the chest and might need angioplasty. “Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger,” the source said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also tweeted about the same and wished for Ganguly’s speedy recovery.

“Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!,” Mamata Banerjee tweeted.

The former India captain recently inaugurated the statue of late Arun Jaitley’s statue at Delhi Cricket Stadium which is named after the former Finance Minister itself.

Recently, ahead of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM), a cricket match was organized between board members where BCCI President Sourav Ganguly led President XI, while Secretary XI was captained by Jay Shah. Ganguly scored an unbeaten 53 runs off 32 balls, which includes six fours and a six in the match. Despite his captaincy knock President XI suffered a 28-run defeat.
