Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity among people remains unchallenged despite several odds he has faced in recent times. In a recent survey conducted by a US data firm, Narendra Modi's approval rating is the highest among world leaders.
Reacting to this, BJP president JP Nadda on Saturday said this is a testimony to his able leadership and a matter of pride for all Indians. Nadda tweeted that Modi has yet again emerged as the most popular head of government for his efficient handling of various issues and management of the COVID-19 crisis.
According to the findings of the survey, counducted by data firm Morning Consult, 75% people approve of Modi while 20% disapprove, putting his net approval rating at 55%. This is higher than any other world leader the firm tracks.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the 'popularity and credibility of PM Modi' has been recognised globally.
Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar too congratulated the PM and said that it is a matter of pride of for the country.
The survey shows approval rating for German Chancellor Angela Merkel as 24%, while it is in the negative for UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as more people disapprove of his work than those who approve it.
The other leaders who have witnessed a rise in their popularity include Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
