DMK demands special TN session to adopt resolution against Farm laws

Chennai, Jan 1 (UNI) Opposition DMK President M K Stalin

on Friday urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K

Palaniswami to convene a special session of the State

Assembly to adopt a resolution against Centre's three

Farm Laws.

In a letter to Mr Palaniswami, he referred to the historic

resolutions adopted in the Punjab and Kerala Assembly

and urged him to adopt a similar resolution by convening

a special session of the Assembly immediately.

Pointing out that Tamil Nadu was the first state to waive

off farm loans and provided free power to them, he said

'in this hour of crisis we should set aside our differences

and stand with the farmers and insist the Centre to repeal

the three laws'.

It was compulsion of time that the state government stand

by the side of the farmers and support the farmers who aere

protesting against the farm bills for the past 37 days near the

National capital, braving severe cold weather, Mr Stalin said.

'As the leader of the principal opposition, I urge Mr Palaniswami

to convene a special session of the Assembly immediately and
