EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Among headline indices, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 160 points at 47,910 levels and testing the 48,000-mark. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 index was trading above the 14,000-mark. Mahindra & Mahindra rose 2 per cent and was the top Sensex gainer, followed by TCS, State Bank of India, and ONGC (all up over half a per cent).
Shares of Antony Waste Handling Cell made a decent debut at the bourses on Friday with stock of the solid waste management services company listing at Rs 430, a 36.5 per cent premium against its issue price of Rs 315 per share on the BSE. READ MORE
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was largely positive, with Nfty PSU Bank index, up 1.2 per cent, leading the list of gainers.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were trading 0.5 per cent higher, each.
