The end of 2020 has brought a good news to the jails of Haryana. These jails will now have their own prison radio for the first time, which will be called TJR i.e. Tinka Jail Radio. There are a total of 19 jails in Haryana, out of which 3 are Central while 16 are District Jails. At present, there are a total of 20,423 prisoners in Haryana jails, including more than 900 women prisoners.
Jail radio in the state will be started from Central Jail Ambala, District Jail Panipat and District Jail Faridabad. After the audition in December, 21 detainees from these three prisons were selected for jail radio. These included 6 in Panipat, 6 in Ambala and 10 in Faridabad Jail. Among these 22 detainees, 5 women prisoners of Faridabad jail are also included. He has been given this training by Dr. Vartika Nanda, the founder of Tinka Tinka.
Selected prisoners of these three jails became part of the five-day radio training. All these captives are from different ages, educational backgrounds. The purpose of the training was to prepare these detainees to make programs according to the radio, explaining the need and importance of radio.
The closing ceremony of the training was done in the jail of Faridabad and during this, the Director General of Haryana Jail, Shri K.K. Selvaraj was present on the pretext of District Jail Faridabad, Jaikishan Challar, Superintendent Lakhbir Singh Brar of Central Jail, Ambala and Devi Dayal, Superintendent of District Jail, Panipat. The ceremony was held in the presence of Jai Kishan Challar, the District Magistrate, Faridabad. Certificates were also handed over to all the participating prisoners on this occasion.
The captives will show their talent through radio
Under this, a radio station will be set up in the jail premises. People outside will not be able to connect with it. You will be able to listen to all the radios through the speakers outside the barracks. It will have a one-hour program daily, with programs related to law, health and music. The captives will also recite their poems and stories. The captives will be able to write their request or questions, which will be answered in the next program.
The prisoners in the jail will show their talent through radio. A list of artists is being prepared in the jail who will participate in prison radio. The special thing is that the prisoners of the three jails have prepared the intro and tune. He has made this historic move musical in the prison's limited resources.
According to Vartika Nanda, now the captives have started calling each other RJ. Are openly appreciating each other. For the first time the prisoners of the three prisons met each other. He was asked to communicate with depressed detainees in jail. List of artists was created. This captive holding Mike now stands with his new identity. They are becoming councilors for their peers. Prison radio first started in Tihar jail
Jail radio was first introduced in India in 2013 in Tihar Jail. At that time, Vartika Nanda was present to see this ceremony. On July 31, 2019, Tinka Tinka launched Jail Radio in District Jail Agra, which operates in India's oldest jail building. In the beginning of this prison radio, Uday and Tuhina were joined by 2 captives and became its jockeys. Later Rajat Sanjay took charge of this radio. Agra Jail Radio was established for the first time in Uttar Pradesh as a female prisoner radio jockey.
In the second episode of Tinka Tinka Pigeon Model, now the radio of Haryana jails will be started. The radio name of each jail will be associated with its location.
