18 new Covid cases, one fatality in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 1 (UNI): A woman died of Covid and the state recorded only 18 new cases.

In the past twenty-four hours, 18 persons (9M, 9F) from general population were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.

The positive persons were tested at JNIMSs (3), RIMS (3), Imphal West (1), Maipakpi

Hospital (2), Shija Hospital (6), Thoubal (1), Jiribam (1) and Babina Diagnostics (1).

The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (8), Imphal East

3), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (1), Ukhrul (1) and Jiribam (1). All were locals without any

significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like

containment and contact tracing were in place.

In the last 24 hours, one person aged 72 yrs (female, Imphal East) expired at Raj Medicity

(1). The cumulative number of deaths was 356. The total number of discharged persons was 64. They were from CAPF (17), Home Isolation (31), JNIMS (6), RIMS (5), LKK (2) and SHRI (3).

6. The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,206 (General Population 24,826 and

Central Security Personnel 3,380). The cumulative number of recovered cases was

26,742 (General Population - 23,477 and Central Security Personnel - 3,265). The

number of active cases was 1,108 (General Population - 997 and Central Security

Personnel-111). The recovery rate was 94.80 %.
