MP to get four awards under PMAY(U)

Bhopal, Dec 31 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh is to receive four awards on Friday for excellent implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), it was officially learnt.
Premier Narendra Modi will present – via videoconferencing – the second prize for Best Performing State to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. A special honour for Best AHP on Public Lands shall be conferred on Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh. The other two accolades pertain to urban bodies.

In Madhya Pradesh, approximately three lakh beneficiaries have been provided dwellings under various components of PMAY. About five lakh abodes are under construction. Landless families were provided title deeds. A decision has been taken to extend additional grant of up to Rs 1 lakh through a state scheme for registered construction workers. Chhindwara Municipal Corporation performed excellently.

Bhopal, Dec 31 (UNI) Premier Narendra Modi will on Friday lay the foundation stone for the ambitious Light House Project in Indore via videoconferencing at 1100 hrs in the presence of Governor Anandiben Mafatbhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and others; official sources said.
Indore has been selected by the Centre’s Housing and Urban Development Ministry under the Global Housing Technology Challenge of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). As many as 1,024 residential units are to be constructed utilising the pre-fabricated sandwich panel system – an innovative method using wall panels with cores of lightweight concrete between cement fibre boards.

Active COVID-19 cases drop by 2500 in HP

Shimla, Dec 31 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh, which faced peak cases of Novel Coronavirus in the month of November, recorded gradual decline in the active cases, which remained around 2500 in this hill state on Thursday.
