Police seized five kilograms of ganja and arrested five men during a vehicle check in Tambaram on Wednesday.
Chennai: The Selaiyur police were on vehicle check in Mappedu on Wednesday night when on suspicion intercepted five men who came on two bikes.
Upon checking the two-wheelers, police found 1.5 kgs of ganja. They were taken to the police station and during the inquiry, police identified them as Vijay (20), Manikandan (20), Mahesh (20), Parthiban (22), and Jayasankar (22).
Police said all of them are associates of ganja peddler Martin, who got arrested recently but still continues to call shots in the sale of the banned substance from the prison.
They had purchased ganja from a man in Vandalur and supplied to a few persons secretly.
Police arrested all of them and seized their two-wheelers. They were remanded in judicial custody.
