Anushka Sharma lauds Mumbai Police officer for forming a team to deal with animal cruelty cases

Anushka Sharma is an animal lover and has often raised her voice for animal rights on different occasions. In June this year, when a pregnant elephant died in Kerala’s palakkad district, the actress was appalled and condemned the cruel act while calling for stricter laws against animal cruelty. Now, ACP Sudhir Kudalkar formed a team of advocates to deal with animal cruelty and the actress lauded him for the same on social media. According to reports, the team will be helping animal lovers to file cases and guide the cops who refuse to register FIRs in matters of animal cruelty. Sharing a screenshot of ACP Sudhir Kudalkar in her IG stories, the actress posted clapping emojis while welcoming the initiative. In a recent interview, while talkign about the same, ACP Sudhir Kudalkar said, 'It's a crime and people can be booked under sections 428 and 429 of the IPC and Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960. This is why I have set up a team of 20 advocates from across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and Thane to guide the cops and help them register FIRs.' Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are expecting their first child in January 2021.
