TNWL condemns assault of Sharkaphung village headman

Ukhrul, December 31 2020: The Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long (TNWL), Tangkhul Headmen Association has condemned the alleged physical assault of Wungreikhan Kasar, Headman of Sharkaphung village on December 29 at Litan.

TNWL stated that despite all the differences, assaulting the village headman is unacceptable and such brutality is uncalled for.

As per a statement issued by TNWL, any problems or conflicts should have been settled through a competent authority peacefully.

It went on to mention that the Litan police station, as guardian of law and order, would do well to protect its citizens and not remain a mute spectator.

TNWL added that the incident was unfortunate and such barbaric action should not be repeated in the future.
