Inquiry into death of LC DC underway: K'taka Min

Bengaluru, Dec 31 (UNI) Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that preliminary inquiry was underway into the death of Legislative Council Deputy Chairman S L Dharme Gowda and necessary action will be taken, based on the report.
Speaking to the mediapersons here, Mr Bommai said, ''Police is conducting a preliminary investigation regarding the post-mortem report, death note and circumstantial evidence. Based on the findings, further action will be taken.''
Gowda (64), MLC from JD (S), was found dead on a rail track in Chikkamagaluru district early on Tuesday, with police sources claiming that he committed suicide.
The Minister said the process is on, the procedures regarding circumstantial evidence, post-mortem and inquest reports will require some time.
''Preliminary inquiry is on...once it is over, we will know the exact reason (of the death),'' he added.
