All SMC Corporators to visit Mumbai, Pune on study tour, Mayor

Srinagar, Dec 31 (UNI) All Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will visit Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra in January to participate in a study-tour.

This information was given by SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu on Thursday.

He said the Corporators of SMC will hold executive meetings with the corporators of Mumbai and Pune Municipal Corporations and engage in knowledge sharing partnership.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter Mattu, who recently joined Apni Party(AP) after becoming Mayor of SMC, said, “All Hon’ble Corporators of SMC will participate in a study-tour and visit Mumbai and Pune Municipal Corporations in January. SMC will also hold executive meetings with the two Corporations and engage in knowledge sharing partnerships.

Bhopal, Dec 30 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday conferred the Silver – under Digital India Awards – to the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Labour Department’s Pravasi Shramik and Rojgar Setu portals in the ‘Innovation in Pandemic’ category via videoconferencing from the national capital, it was officially learnt.
These gateways have been recognised for facilitating identification, registration, skilling plus employment of migrant and other workers during the novel coronavirus pandemic. An integrated database is being utilised by departments and district administrations for rehabilitation plus welfare of transient labourers.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 3,595

Bhopal, Dec 30 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,595 in Madhya Pradesh where 13 fresh demises were reported on Wednesday even as the infected tally touched 2,40,947 with 866 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 27,081 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 9,387. Indore District had the dubious distinction of spawning the maximum 223 fresh instances, Bhopal 202, Ujjain 30, Gwalior 28, Ratlam 27, Jabalpur 26, Khargone 24, Sagar 21, Vidisha 15, Dhar and Jhabua 14 each, Rajgarh 13, Betul 12, Shivpuri 11, etc.
