BGB-BSF launch joint operation in Mizoram: Kamal

Dhaka, Dec 30 (UNI) Home Minister Bangladesh Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Wednesday said that terrorist groups are stationed on the Mizoram border of India.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the award ceremony at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in Peelkhana.
On this day, a total of 59 people were awarded medals in 4 categories in recognition of their heroic and meritorious work in various activities of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The Home Minister presented the medals to the recipients at a function held at the Multipurpose Shed at the BGB headquarters.
The Home Minister said, ''BGB has an important and great responsibility to protect the borders of the country. Despite various limitations, the BGB's success in protecting the border and preventing smuggling, drug trafficking and trafficking in women and children is commendable.
''In particular, the BGB has been able to show special achievements in preventing the smuggling of yaba, phencidyl and other drugs,'' he added.
