Iconic hockey player Micheal Kindo is no more, Naveen condoles

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31 (UNI) Michael Kondo, a member of the India’s 1975 hockey World Cup-winning team died at a hospital in Rourkela today due to prolonged illness.
Family sources said Mr. Kindo, who was bed ridden for quite some time due to old age
related problem, breathed his last at the Ispat General Hospital
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has condoled the passing away of veteran Hockey player
Michael Kindo.
In a message Mr.Patnaik said that Kindo was an iconic player whose contribution to global
hockey would never be forgotten.
He has made our country, our state proud with his stellar performance in world cups. It's
the players like him who are the inspiration behind our recognition in the field of hockey,
Mr.Patnaik said.
The Chief Minister has conveyed his deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.
