Follow Covid protocols: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner to schools

MANGALURU: All the schools must adhere to Covid-19 protocols and ensure safety of the children once schools reopen from January 1, said K V Rajendra, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada.
He said that measures have been taken to clean up and sanitise classrooms and school premises in the district. “It is already done in rural areas, gram panchayat and urban schools. Each school will have thermal scanner to check temperature. RT-PCR test is compulsory for all teachers and non-teaching school staff in schools. It is arranged at all primary health centres, community health centres, taluk hospitals and Wenlock Hospital,” said the DC.
However, attendance is not compulsory, but students coming to the school must obtain a written consent from their parents. It must be submitted to the school head. All the officialss in charge of the department of public instruction have been instructed to visit and supervise all the schools in the district from Friday to January 8.
