Lucknow, Dec 31 (UNI) In a bid to bring smiles to the faces of the underprivileged people of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stone of the Light House Project (LHP) on Friday.
Under this project, 1040 urban poor of Lucknow will get a flat of 415 sq ft area for only Rs 4.76 lakh. The state government has set the timeline of just a year to complete this project.
The actual cost of this flat will be Rs 12.59 lakh, of which Rs 7.83 lakh will be given as a grant from the central and state governments. The remaining amount of Rs 4.76 lakh will have to be paid by the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The allotment of the flats, situated at the Shaheed Path under Awadh Vihar Yojana, will be done as per the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and District Urban Development Authority (DUDA). For which, an open lottery will be conducted under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate.
PM Modi will virtually attend the event of the foundation of Global Housing Technology Challenge India (GHTC India) and distribution of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in six states of the country.
CM Yogi will also be joining the event virtually at 1100 hours on Friday. In the program, the PM will also announce awards in many categories.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, keeping in view the urban weaker sections, has chosen Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Rajkot in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Agartala in Tripura, and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh to construct houses under LHP.
The LHP, to be built under the Awadh Vihar scheme located in Shaheed Path, is being implemented in a 34.50 square meter carpet area. Under this, 14-storey towers will be built and 1040 flats will be available to people belonging to weaker sections.
The state government is promoting the use of new technologies in students, technological institutions, architects, and engineers. New technology is being used in the implementation of the project, which will help to complete the construction work within a year.
Notably, LHP will develop a new pace of construction and with the use of pre-fabricated goods, it will make construction more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The government of India will give a subsidy of Rs 5.50 lakh(1.50 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and 4 lakh under Technical Innovation Grant) for 12.59 lakh. While the state government will provide a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh under PMAY and 1.33 lakh under Technical Innovation Grant (TIG).
