Indian Rupee appreciated by 23 paise to 73.07 against the US dollar at close on Thursday. The Rupee trade on Thursday was supported by sustained foreign fund inflows and weakness of the American currency in the overseas market.
The domestic unit opened at 73.15 against the US dollar and inched higher to 73.01 against the greenback at one point of time. It traded in the range of 73.01 - 73.17 on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the rupee rose by 11 paise to close at more than two-month high of 73.31 against the US dollar. The domestic unit has finished higher on all four days of this week so far.
In comparison US dollar hit 2 1/2 year lows with more borrowing seeing weakness persist even though short term heavily oversold.
Oil benchmark, Brent Crude was trading 0.19% lower at USD 51.53 per barrel
