ICC Test Rankings – Kane Williamson ends 2020 as No. 1 Ranked Test Player:New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson overtook ICC Test Player of the Decade Steve Smith and ICC Player of the Decade Virat Kohli to become the No.1 batsman in the ICC Test rankings on Thursday.
Williamson has been in red-hot form in red-ball cricket. The 30-year-old riding on his brilliant century against Pakistan in the first Test in Mount Maunganui, jumped over Smith who has is in a rut and had a bad outing in the first two Test vs India.
Furthermore, the New Zealand Cricket Team under Williamson’s captaincy has scripted history by becoming World No.1 in Test for the first time in its history.
The Island nation achieved feat after registering their fifth consecutive test win this year – they beat Pakistan by 101-runs at Bay Oval.
