The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, December 30, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Milder air will push northward over the eastern third of the
nation today. Spotty rain showers are in store for the
Southeast as snow showers dot the Northeast. A complex storm
and front will produce a swath of snow, ice and rain from
the Great Lakes southwestward to the Rio Grande River.
Mainly rain will fall for the middle portion of the
Mississippi Valley as thunderstorms are likely to erupt and
grow heavy and gusty in parts of eastern Texas, western
Louisiana, southern Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma. Snow
that breaks out over southwestern Texas can equal the
seasonal average all in one shot, while snow is forecast to
diminish around the upper Great Lakes later. Much of the
rest of the Plains and West will be dry, although a new
storm will send rain and snow into Washington and Oregon.
