Annual Sports Meet concludes

Imphal, December 29 2020: Annual Sports Meet of Phunal Sambum village in Chandel district concluded today.

The sports meet saw participation from youths of the village in various games and sports including tug of war, football and volleyball.

Greenland Prayer Group (women) and Parim Prayer Group (men) were the team champions in tug of war.

Parim FC (women) beat Parbam FC 1-0 to clinch the title in football, while Greenland FC beat Church Road FC 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out as regulation time ended in a stalemate.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the sports meet by W Muidou Makunga, Healthcare Consultant and Kh Psalm, village secretary, who were attending the closing ceremony of the 4-Day Annual Sports Meet as presidium members.

8 teams competed in the sports meet that was kicked off on December 26 .
