The city today witnessed the coldest December night of this season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.8°C, which is three degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature witnessed in December last year was 2.9°C. The maximum temperature recorded today was 14°C, which is seven degrees below normal. There is a forecast of dry weather for the next four days. However, light rain is likely on January 2 in isolated places in the tricity. Cold to severe cold wave conditions are expected to prevail till December 31.
