German online shoppers consider packaging important for sustainable purchases - survey

German online shoppers consider the use of sustainable packaging particularly important (42.7%) when shopping on the internet, according to a survey conducted by the opinion research company Civey on behalf of e-commerce association BEVH. Consumers consider transparency on the origin of goods and supply chain (41.1%) as the second most important factor when shopping online, followed by the use of products made by sustainable manufacturing (34.5%) in third place, then social commitment (32.2%), and transparency about production conditions (30.1%).
