No work of urban development visible on ground claims CP Singh

Ranchi, Dec 30 (UNI) Ranchi MLA and former Minister C P Singh on Wednesday raised questions over the functioning of the Urban Development Department.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here he said that under the tenure of previous Chief Minister Raghubar Das many schemes were started in the urban development, housing and transport department and many of such schemes were completed however after the government of Mahagathbandhan has come into power in the state the functioning of these departments have been impacted and aspirations of the common people have been cheated.

Singh said that the Hemant Soren government was only branding its image through hoardings. He pointed that during BJP rule the budget of the urban development department was increased three times and taken to nearly Rs 2900 and even 92-95 per cent funds were used however the present state government only cries over the issue of funds. He said that despite demand the Municipal Corporations were not allotted funds but on the first year, anniversary celebrations money was lavishly spent.

He said that in the previous government LED lights were put up in all the poles and in Ranchi alone, 40,000 LED lights were put up, apart from that in every city work was started on drinking water supply scheme.

However, he said that present government has stopped work on all the projects which were started in the previous regime. Attacking the government he said that through world bank road construction work was started in Dhanbad but that was stopped by the state government for nearly 8 months and it was only started after the government realised that they will have to pay compensation of Rs 134 crore. On the other hand, the Hemant Government is also sitting over the projects related to the construction of fly overs at Kantatoli, Harmu, and Ratu Road.
