Rajasthan tourism is gaining speed once again after facing slow down as an aftermath of COVID-19. After the easing of lockdown and restrictions imposed earlier, now most of the tourist places in the state are witnessing tourists once again. The Rajasthan government opened its tourist destinations for tourists in June after the lockdown, but tourist footfalls remained low till September as a result of the pandemic. Tourism activities started getting momentum from October, which went up in November and December.
More than 2 lakh 33 thousand tourists visited the forts, palaces and museums of Rajasthan so far in this month. The Director of the Department of Archeology and Museum Prakash Chandra Sharma said that domestic tourist arrival is increasing fast.
Amber and Nahargarh Forts of Jaipur were the first choice of tourists. They also visited Chittorgarh Fort in large numbers. However, compared to last year, around 65 percent lesser tourists visited in December this year.
