Sixth round of talks between Govt and farmers concludes, next meeting on Jan 4

New Delhi, Dec 30 (UNI) The sixth round of talks between the government and striking farmers concluded here on Wednesday evening after five hours of brain-storming deliberations with the government agreeing on two of the four demands.

The next meeting will take place on January 4.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere

He said the government has agreed on two demands of the farmers including Electricity Bill

no penalty on stubble burning.

He said there were four points in the agenda and both sides had agreed on two points. This was

a welcome step.

He assured that MSP would continue but said further discussions on the issue would be held on January four.

He hoped that the next meeting would be even more fruitful.
