New Year's Gift for Policemen: DGP announces week off for policemen posted at police stations

Ranchi, Dec 30 (UNI) Director General of Police MV Rao on Wednesday announced a New Year's Gift for the policemen of the state as per which staff posted at the police stations will be provided one day week off.
Addressing a press conference at the state police headquarters here he said that in this regard all the SSPs and SPs will be issued instructions after which all the policemen posted at the police stations will be given one day off.
The DGP said that from January 1 the police personnel will be eligible for one day off. He said that throughout January a trial will be done during which problems if any being faced in its execution will also be figured out and from February onwards it would be permanently put into place.
He said that one day leave will enable the policemen to spend time with their families and do their other works apart from that roaster wise also they would be provided a week off.
The DGP said that in disturbing law and order and poster pasting some white coloured people are also involved who will be soon identified and action will be taken against them. He said that as far as the Maoists are concerned police was committed to wiping them off from Jharkhand for which anti-insurgency operations are on in the state.
The DGP said that efforts are also on to improve the working culture of the policemen and their problems is being also solved. He pointed out that at present the common people are sharing lots of information with the policemen as they are sure that their names will not be revealed.
