Mumbai, Dec 30 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party leader Eknath Khadse on Wednesday did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) office in connection with a case linked to Pune land deal on health grounds.
The central agency had summoned Mr Khadse recently, directing him to be present in its Mumbai office on December 30 for a probe into Pune land deal case.
However, he skipped the summons citing health reasons, as per his statement here Wednesday.
Mr Khadse, who has recently joined NCP after quitting BJP on account of being sidelined in the party, said though he was planning to go to ED's office today, since the past couple of days he has been suffering from fever, cold, dry cough and other health issues similar to Covid-19 symptoms.
“On the advice of doctors, I have also undergone a Covid-19 test, the report of which is awaited. I have informed the ED of the same and they have permitted me to take rest for 14 days,” the 66-year-old leader said in a statement.
After his health condition improves, he will report to ED's office and fully cooperate in the probe, he added.
