Maharashtra extends lockdown till January 31

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government on Wednesday extended the lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the state till the midnight of January 31.
Meanwhile, state home minister Anil Deshmukh talking to the media said that the Covid-19 threat still persists. He appealed to people to avoid crowding while celebrating the new year.
"All hotels, restaurants, pubs and bar will be open till 11pm, ahead of the new year. People should follow guidelines issued by the state".
He added that more than five people should not be gathered after 11pm.
The state chief secretary Sanjay Kumar has issued an order about the extension of the lockdown.
The order stated that all departments should strictly implement these guidelines.
The activities which already allowed and permitted from time to time shall be continued as part of the ‘mission begins again’ and shall remain in force up to January 31.
