MC deploys 24 officers for Buddha Nullah

The Municipal Corporation has deployed 24 nodal officers to make Buddha Nullah free of solid waste. These nodal officers have been given strict instructions to keep vigil on Buddha Dariya and ensure action against those who are found littering in it.

MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal said a meeting was conducted to discuss the plan to stop dumping of solid waste in the nullah. It was attended by Dr Puran Singh, Project Director for the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Sabharwal said the responsibilities of nodal officers had been fixed and they had been asked to visit their respective areas and create awareness among people not to dump solid waste in the water body. The officers had been asked to issue challan of Rs 5,000 to violators.

The Commissioner has also ordered street vendors, who station carts near the nullah, to keep two bins for collection of waste. The nodal officers have been asked to issue challan of Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000 against those who are found burning garbage. The officers have been told to complete the given tasks within 15 days.
