TRICHY: A day after actor Rajinikath called off his plan to enter politics citing ill health, his long-time friend and Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan on Wednesday said he would seek the former’s support for the upcoming assembly poll in Tamil Nadu.
“It is obvious to seek support from all sections ahead of election and how will I leave my close friend,” said Kamal when reporters in Pudukottai asked him if he would seek support of Rajinikanth.
Kamal said he welcomed Rajinikanth’s decision as a friend and agreed to it as it was taken after considering his wellbeing.
“I took the right to address him as ‘My Rajini’ as I did on a few occasions recently. I had this privilege even before he had a fan following and I hope people would not object to it,” said Kamal.
