Q. In the mid- to late-1990s when the cable operator wars were raging, one was forced to hand over the M&E beat to the crime reporters in Mumbai papers. Appears to be an encore as we enter the 2020s. Your comments?

A. Is it so? Actually in the mid 1990s, I was deeply engaged in the print media business. So I wasn’t aware of such a scenario. Consequently, what appears to you as an encore doesn’t appear to me so. Besides, you belong to the Church, as they say, and I belong to the so-called State. So can’t emotively relate to your experience. Sorry…
