2 arrested with Rs 2.5-cr heroin in Mohali

The Mohali police have arrested two persons with 500-gm heroin. “The heroin is valued around Rs 2.5 crore in the international market. A car used for smuggling heroin was also seized from the suspects near Saneta village,” said Mohali SSP Satinder Singh.

The suspects have been identified as Vinay and Ankush, both residents of Samalkha village. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against them at the Sohana police station yesterday. The preliminary interrogation of the suspects revealed that the duo was involved in bringing heroin from Delhi and Haryana and they used to supply it in Chandigarh, Mohali and nearby areas. The police said two cases under the NDPS Act were already registered against Vinay in Ambala. He was out on a bail in one of the cases. — TNS
