‘Drunk’ youth mows down 5-year-old in Noida

NOIDA: A five-year-old child was mowed down by a speeding car and his mother injured in Sector 122, the police said on Monday.
The accused driver, Tushar Rawat, was under the influence of alcohol at that time, they said. The accident took place at 6 pm on Sunday when the victims were crossing Parthala road and the Swift VDI hit them near Amrapali Zodiac society. The child, Rishabh Anand, died on the spot while his mother was taken to Kailash Hospital in Sector 71. She is currently undergoing treatment.
Phase III SHO Jitendra Dikhit said: “An FIR has been lodged in the case under IPC sections 304 a (death due to negligence), 279 (rash driving) and section 185 of the MV Act.”
Rawat from Sector 34 is a student. Dikhit said that Rawat was caught, his medical examination conducted and he was found drunk.
