Haryana, Punjab Shiver Under Cold Wave | Cold wave conditions sweeping most parts of Haryana and Punjab for the past few days further intensified on Tuesday, with the minimum in Hisar settling at zero degrees Celsius. It was the season's coldest night so far at many places including Hisar, Narnaul, Amritsar and Chandigarh. The minimum in Hisar in Haryana dropped by six notches below normal, while Amritsar recorded 0.4 degrees, Meteorological Department officials here said. They said that fog reduced visibility early morning at several places in the two states.

Dharme was Upset After He Was Pulled Down from Chairman's seat | Dharme Gowda's driver said that the deputy chairman cited "personal work" before leaving. "We are used to waiting for them everywhere. MP to Take Ordinance Route to Enforce Anti-conversion Law, Says CM Shivraj | The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh will take the ordinance route to enforce from Tuesday the proposed law on religious conversion that stipulates jail term of up to 10 years for violators, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday. The decision comes in the wake of the postponement of the winter session of the state assembly due to the COVID-19 situation. The Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Bill, 2020, which provides for prison term of up to 10 years and fine of Rs 1 lakh for "conversion through marriage or by any other forceful means", was approved by the cabinet on Saturday.
