The local unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has criticised MP Kirron Kher over her recent communication to UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore seeking extension for the UT Chief Engineer.
AAP leader Chander Mukhi Sharma said: “It seems the Raj Bhawan is a puppet of Kirron Kher or an extension counter of the BJP.”
It seems the Raj Bhawan is a puppet of Kirron Kher or an extension counter of the BJP.
The BJP MP had stated that Special Secretary (Engineering) has been engaged with the important project of construction of the flyover at the Tribune Chowk, and that if the officer retires at this point, difficulties could be experienced in the execution of the project.
Sharma said neither the Secretary (Engineering) nor the UT Adviser had recommended the official’s extension, proving that the BJP MP was working hand in glove with the official concerned. He said such recommendations should first come from seniors only if they find his work praiseworthy, but nothing of that sort had been done. Such a recommendation from an MP had raised eyebrows, he stated.
“Kirron Kher has termed it as her dream project, but it is not just her personal project. It would affect the character of the entire city and is being strongly opposed by the general public of Chandigarh,” said Sharma. He said when the MP said she had been personally attending meetings with the Chief Engineer, she must remember he had been attending meetings on the behalf of the Administration and not as her personal assistant.
Sharma said a reply in the case was yet to be filed and was still under the scrutiny of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
