Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore, the Chief Minister said that people of Tamil Nadu will not accept a coalition government. “That is also the stand of AIADMK,” he said in response to a query on BJP leaders speaking about sharing power. 

The Chief Minister, however, said that the alliance formed for the Parliamentary polls will continue for the Assembly polls too under the leadership of AIADMK. 

On DMK leader MK Stalin’s report to the Governor alleging corruption against AIADMK leaders, the Chief Minister said that the DMK has given a false report against the government. 

“The DMK even pointed to corruption in a project that was cancelled in its tender stage itself. After former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s demise, the DMK expected AIADMK to break away, but it didn’t happen. Then, they tried to create confusion among the ruling party MLAs to topple the government. But that too didn’t happen. They have now given a false report out of frustration as their dream failed to fructify,” he said. 

Slamming the DMK as a corporate company as only family members could come to power, the Chief Minister in an attack against DMK leader Duraimurugan, said “He doesn’t have the locus-standi to speak about corruption as even the Election Commission has cancelled the Parliamentary polls to Vellore constituency after 11 crores of unaccounted money was seized. People know who is corrupt.” 

Pointing out that tenders were issued in a transparent manner through online by the AIADMK government, the Chief Minister, referring to the 2G spectrum case, said that it was given by DMK on a first come basis with an agenda. 

On Kamal Hassan’s statement regarding bribes collected in various government departments, Palaniswami said that Kamal does not know of anything and had come into politics at the age of retirement from cinema. 

To a query on actor Vijay’s meeting him in Chennai, the Chief Minister said that the actor just requested him to take steps regarding reopening of theatres with full capacity. The Chief Minister also countered the charges of former Mayor M Subramanian by claiming that the AIADMK has constructed several bridges in Chennai.
