KALYAN: Shiv Sena workers on Tuesday put up posters across Dombivli in Thane district, in support of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, targeting Enforcement Directorate for issuing summons to Raut's wife Varsha.
In the posters, Shiv Sena workers have called ED a 'puppet' of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). The posters stated that even though ED is a 'puppet' of BJP, yet they respect it as a government agency. Another poster read, 'Has ED started any new table (cabin) in BJP's office?".
The posters came after the summons for questioning were issued to Varsha Raut, wife of Sanjay Raut, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank scam case.
After the summons were issued, Sanjay Raut claimed, "We are not scared of anyone and will respond accordingly."
Meanwhile Sanjay Raut's wife Varsha has decided to not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday. Varsha Raut has sought time from the probe agency till 5th January.
